Can't move my Kings! – Barr
First time I played game, level one, I was not allowed to move my Kings at all! The board just zoomed in. Finally, just to do anything, I could only move another piece, a double jump against me! Please fix this bug - because the game seems otherwise terrific!!

Thanks for the feedback! One thing that might help is to disable zooming, which you can do by going to iPhone settings and selecting the 3DCheckers tab. I will look into this problem further and see if we can make it easier in a future update.

You need to add an undo button because pieces land in unintended places sometimes. Also add an option to declare a draw after 50 moves with no capture. A diaganol flying king option would be nice.

I am working on new challenges for more experienced players. However several people currently complain that the game is too hard, so I am trying to strike a balance. As for two player mode, try player vs player hotseat mode, or peer to peer bluetooth mode!

Forced Jumps Shouldn't Be An Option – IgnisFatuus
Checkers isn't checkers without forcing jumps. There's almost no strategy if you can't force your oponent to jump. Just abolish the option to turn on/off forced jumps. There's no need for it. Or re-title the app because what you currently have is not really checkers -- it's some sort of hybrid. Programatically, I'm sure it'd be easier anyhow to just have one engine for checking possible moves.
Or another thought: as a programmer myself, consider just throwing out the code you have now and start over. Seems to me like you've worked yourself into a situation of using hacks to correct problems. But hacks always end up creating problems of their own.
Just a thought. But logical circuits should generally be as simple as possible. Break the rules of the game down to their most simple forms and start from there.

It is very difficult to write a checkers AI that considers all options! Chinook, the algorithm that famously solved checkers uses a massive database of moves. The number of possibilities is enormous, and traversing that database on the iPhone would be quite a feat! Even on the hardest level, 3D Checkers only looks a few moves ahead.

How to use Peer2peer – Cole
Hi Jack, first of all you need two devices to play peer to peer. After selecting the game type, just press play. The opponent must do the same on her device. The devices will automatically discover eachother (some times it takes a while). One of the players should select the other player's device from the list. Then on the other device just select "accept" when the option comes up, and the game will start! Thanks!

Back button does not make any sense when used in game against the computer. When it's tapped on, the only the computer's move is rolled back, but the computer makes the same move right away. The Back button should roll back the human's move, not the computer's.

Board zooms when I try to move king – Lou
When an attempt is made to move the king across the board, the board zooms. To move the king requires several attempts. Also instructions should be
included that indicates how the checker pieces can be
moved as there are variuos ways to play checkers. For example I have played where the king could move diagionally across the board over multiple spaces to capture an opponent checker. However when I tried that in this game, I could not. So a users guide would help.
Also when a game is won it should indicate if the win went to computer or opponent and if multiple games are played a score card should be present.

Does it start "Searching for iPhone or iPod touches" after you touch the "Play" button, or right when the game launches? If its the former, try selecting a different game mode by touching the box that says "Peer to Peer." If you keep touching this button, it will cycle through the different play modes.

Hi, please try changing the game type by clicking the button on the home screen that says "peer to peer." If this doesn't work, try deleting the application by pushing and holding on the app icon until it begins wobling, then click the x. Then re-download the app from the app store (it will be free because you already own it). Thanks!

The computer plays well for quite a while but will then make one orctwo terrible unforced errors. I just played a game where the computer moved a king in front of a regular man and allowed a triple jump. It had other moves.

You are right, sometimes it's difficult. My goal was to make moving the pieces as easy as possible without adding pop-up boxes or other helpers. (Other checkers games do this, and I think it detracts from the gameplay) Its not perfect yet and I'm still working on making it easier. Any suggestions for improving it are welcome.

When my pieces are on the other side of the board the screen zooms in and out automatically. This can be very annoying when selecting a piece. Also the undo function only undos the last move. So if playing computer thAt moves right after me it will only undo the computers move.

In 3dcheckers I've applied the rule that if at the start of a turn a player is unable to move, he/she loses. (http://www.checkersrules.net/rules-jumps-kings-wins.html para 5, also http://www.darkfish.com/checkers/rules.html para "win or draw"). There is no specific guidance on the ACF site's rules page.

Bug In "Force Jump" Logic – Paul
I got into a situation during a game where the engine didn't allow me to make a particular jump, essentially forcing me to make another jump. More specifically, I had two jump options. One with a normal piece, and a double jump with a king. I wanted to take the jump with the normal piece, but the game wouldn't let me. It did let me take the jump with the king, though. (I had the force jump option on.)

I've looked for the rules on force jumps but have had difficulty finding a definitive answer. My interpretation is that if you have the option between a single and double jump, you have to double jump. In other words, each turn you are forced to jump as much as possible. If I'm wrong here, please point me to a reference that supports an alternative interpretation of the force jump rule and I will correct it in the game. Thanks!

Somehow I missed rule 7 on the ACF site's rules page. (http://www.usacheckers.com/rulesofcheckers.php) It turns out you should be able to choose the single jump over the double jump! I will correct this in a future version of the game.

If you use your finger to trace the full path you would like the piece to take, without picking it up, you will be able to double-jump. I think this is preferred to popping up a dialog box asking "are you done yet?" I'm not sure that there are other alternatives, but if you can think of a better way, please let me know!
